Digitalweld sets course for bright future

For more than three decades, Auckland-based Digitalweld Ltd has been supplying New Zealand industries with advanced welding technologies and dependable technical support.

Established in 1993 as Eutectic NZ Ltd, the company initially operated in partnership with the Messer Eutectic + Castolin Group. That partnership concluded in 2005, marking a new chapter under the name Digitalweld Ltd.

Now fully independent, Digitalweld is a 100% New Zealand-owned family business that continues to evolve while maintaining the core principles on which it was founded. General manager Darren Sharpe – formerly of Machinery House – leads the company’s operations alongside siblings Jason and Debra, the children of founder Don Whale, who has since stepped back from day-to-day management.

Reflecting on the company’s evolution, Sharpe says the mission remains clear: “We want to support New Zealand’s welding and fabrication industries with not only the best gear but also with genuine service and advice – the sort that builds lasting relationships.”
