Treotham captures new technology

A new compact, high performance smart camera has landed from Treotham. With the ability to adapt itself to a number of situations with its intelligent, modular software concept, the technology is an exciting innovation.

Powerful processors, a modular software concept and illumination components make weQube a multifunctional specialist for industrial image processing.

“The weQube Smart Camera system from Wenglor combines multiple features into a single, modular, high-performance platform,” says Treotham New Zealand’s national sales manager, Alec Stanley.

Features that it combines include five high performance processors for rapid image processing without any loss of time. It also offers two different image chip versions of colour and monochrome, and a teach+ function for easy remote maintenance and checking of the system.

The camera has a graphic display and 12 powerful LEDs of red light, white light or infrared light in the housing to provide reliable illumination and prevent loss of brightness.

“With an intelligent, modular software concept suitable for experts and beginners, weQube can be adapted to suit user applications whenever required. WeQube can be used for image processing, for detecting letters and symbols or for scanning 1D/2D codes by simply selecting the required software package,” says Stanley.

There are four software packages available. These include:”

  • weQubeVision: the standard image processing package or standard plus pattern matching;
  • weQubeDecode: the scanning package;
  • weQubeOCR: the character recognition package;
  • weQube: the Smart Camera – all modules in one.
