HVAC coils are exposed to moisture, chemicals and airborne contaminants that can lead to corrosion and reduced performance over time.
Blygold New Zealand provides specialised coatings designed to protect coils and maintain system operation in industrial and commercial environments.
Managing director Mark Weir says protecting heat exchangers is a key part of maintaining HVAC performance.
“HVAC coils are critical components, and once corrosion starts it can quickly affect efficiency and system reliability,” Weir says.
The company uses PoluAl XT, an aluminium-pigmented polyurethane coating, applied through a controlled process to form a corrosion-resistant barrier on coil surfaces.
Weir says the coating is designed to preserve airflow and heat transfer while protecting against degradation.
“By maintaining the condition of the coil, systems can continue to operate as intended, reducing the need for early replacement or ongoing repair.”
Blygold coatings are applied by trained technicians to ensure full coverage of heat exchangers and coil surfaces, supporting consistent protection in environments where corrosion risk is high.
Weir says the approach is preventative.
“Extending equipment life and maintaining performance is often more effective than dealing with failure after it occurs.”
