Modern fabrication…

Lero Laser builds capability for NZ manufacturers

Lero Innovation Ltd says it has supported New Zealand’s manufacturing and engineering industries for more than 40 years, supplying machine tool technology backed by technical knowledge and service. From its headquarters in East Tamaki, the company works with fabricators, engineers and manufacturers across a range of applications.

Managing director Andrew Leabourn adds that the company has worked alongside businesses of all sizes, from small jobbing shops to larger manufacturers, supporting the adoption of technology aimed at improving productivity and strengthening capability.

“Our focus has always been on helping customers build capability, not just supplying machines,” Leabourn says.

He says that approach continues through the Lero Laser range, developed to meet the requirements of modern fabrication environments where speed, precision and efficiency are increasingly important.

“Modern manufacturing is evolving quickly, and businesses need the right tools and support to keep up.”

Laser technology is increasingly used where consistent cutting performance and efficiency are required across a range of materials. For many fabrication businesses, introducing laser systems represents a shift in how work is managed.

Work that was previously outsourced can be brought back in-house, allowing greater control over production, lead times, quality and margins. Workflows can be streamlined, turnaround times improved and consistency in cutting strengthened across production.

“With the right cutting capability in place, businesses can take on work they may not have considered before. It opens the door to larger projects, more complex jobs, and ultimately stronger relationships with their customers.”

With increased capability, businesses are also better positioned to quote more complex work and expand their service offering. Leabourn says this can support longer-term growth as manufacturing requirements continue to change.

The Lero Laser range includes flat-bed laser cutting systems, tube laser solutions and complementary technologies configured for different production requirements, supported by installation, training and ongoing service.

Leabourn says the value of the technology extends beyond the equipment itself.

“Investing in advanced equipment is about more than installing new technology. It’s about giving businesses the confidence to move forward. That’s why we back our machines with expert advice, training, and responsive service.”

He says the company’s approach remains centred on supporting customers to improve output, bring work in-house and strengthen capability as manufacturing requirements continue to evolve.
