D-Link expands industrial switch range across A/NZ

D-Link A/NZ has expanded its industrial switch range with four models designed for networking applications across manufacturing, transport, surveillance, utilities and other industrial environments.

The company says in a release to industry that the range has been developed for operating environments where factors such as extreme temperatures, electrical noise, vibration and power surges can affect conventional networking equipment.

The four models are the DIS-310G-24X layer 3 managed switch, DIS-210G-12 and DIS-210G-12UP smart managed switches, and the compact DIS-100E-05 unmanaged model.

The DIS-310G-24X is a 24-port gigabit industrial managed layer 3 switch for larger industrial networks. It has 16 10/100/1000BASE-T copper ports, four gigabit SFP fibre uplinks and four 10G SFP+ ports for backbone or aggregation connectivity.

D-Link says the model has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +75°C, 6kV surge protection across Ethernet ports and a fan-less metal housing. Ethernet ring protection switching (ERPS) provides sub-50ms failover redundancy, while the switch includes loopback detection and cable diagnostics.

The DIS-210G-12 is aimed at mid-sized applications and combines eight gigabit copper ports with four SFP fibre uplinks. It provides web-based smart management, ERPS ring protection, an IP40-rated metal housing and the same -40°C to +75°C operating range.

For applications requiring power and data over the same cable, the DIS-210G-12UP adds power over Ethernet (PoE) capability. Its eight gigabit ports comprise six PoE+ ports providing up to 30W and two PoE++ ports providing up to 60W per port, alongside four gigabit SFP fibre uplinks.

The company says the higher-power ports can support equipment including pan-tilt-zoom cameras, wireless access points, door-entry systems, access control equipment and IoT gateways without separate power injectors at each device location.

At the smaller end of the range, the DIS-100E-05 is a five-port unmanaged industrial switch for applications including sensor clusters, remote monitoring and legacy equipment. It has five 10/100BASE-T Fast Ethernet ports, dual 12-55V DC power inputs, 6kV surge protection and DIN-rail mounting.

All four models use fan-less designs and are rated for operation between -40°C and +75°C, with the range providing options from basic unmanaged edge connectivity through to layer 3 management and 10G uplinks.

The expanded industrial switch range is available in Australia and New Zealand through D-Link business resellers and distribution partners.
